My Year Ender.

The weather is so fickle minded. I'm here typing away by the window and every time I glance outside, the sky seems to give another moody hue. I thought it was seriously going to rain water and thunder on New Year's Eve instead of fireworks and bang-bangs. Now I think otherwise. :D At least.

It's the end of yet another year. I have more or less accomplished my things to do due to the lack of vacation getaways this week - my room looks fuller than ever, the gift wraps have been put away and Missy Me is looking forward to the New Year ahead. I'm finishing this collage for my room and after which, I am off to perform my usual holiday tasks. (Although for some reason, my mom doesn't want us to cook food. We should buy food for tonight instead. Yaaay.)

Well, what can I say? I thought last year was a really happy year. My spirit was soaring so high I thought I'd never settle down. But I was so so so wrong. I was definitely lost during that part. What's great about it is that I never even noticed until a series of events took place this year. I was right in saying that this year did have a lot in store for me. Heck, it was better.

I turned 18 and so did my other friends. I started to take in more responsibility than the usual; more work yet more fun. I met a lot of great people while in the workplace and I braved a lot of obnoxious struggles standing in the way. I am just aware that I came to know the truer meaning of happiness and fulfillment this year, as opposed to what I thought they were last year. Let's just say I was sort of in a false trance then. It was certainly euphoria redefined.

With that said, I would like to put everything in its rightful retrospect.

I have a penchant for reminiscing - for looking back on the things that were, on the year that was and the me that used to be. This year is definitely worth being nostalgic about. The people that I met, the things I accomplished and the experiences of a lifetime made it earn a spot in my big hits.:D

The future seems quite bleak. Well, not really but it is uncertain. I'm afraid of letting my youthful freedom go since I only have one more year as a teen left (kudos to my friends who are turning 20 already. Hahahaha.;p). But that's not gonna happen for 3 months.:) Ima be my good new self until then.

I love everything about 2007. It became an avenue for a lot of opportunities for me and for my loved ones, not only in terms of material things or stuff related to career, but also in terms of opening up and building new relationships that are surely bound to last for more than a lifetime. As I leave this remarkable journey behind and as I stand awaiting what the great future is about to bring, I would like to wish everyone good luck and more blessings from the Almighty. I hope everyone had his own share of the Good Life this year.

This sums up my entire year: take the plunge. Happy New year guys.:D

Pleasant surprise.

I'm not really a big fan of series except for the most passe ones. I don't watch Prison Break, Heroes, Scrubs, Desperate Housewives and some awfully thought of title for a series. I know. Sucks for me right? Since there's a horribly long list, I think it's rather best to stay loyal to a few.

I was in this dvd place this afternoon and something caught my eye. It was this one thing that I swear I would lay my hands on if it ever exist. Voila: Dawsons Creek - the complete 6 series collection. I've been praying for almost months now because I thought I missed its release but now it's finally here! I was seriously going to ask my relatives from the States to send me a copy so that I could just indulge on being a couch potato queen. Aaaaaah!!! I'm soooooo happy. :D

I gotta say. Thanks to my broken copy of Hip Hop Abs. Had it not been for it, I wouldn't have needed to visit that place to actually get a new one and eventually spot the collection of the first series that I fell in love with.

So now, I am on the 10th episode of my current series addiction: Gossip Girl. I want to get a copy of the book and read it but I think I might buy the 4th installment of Shopaholic (Shopaholic and Sister) first. It's such a bummer that I still have tons of school stuff to worry about after the holidays. Oh well. Watch on.

But of course, I'd always stay loyal to my first and only love, Gilmore Girls.

3 days before the year ends. Last hurrahs everyone!:D

Post holiday umph...err not yet.

It's about 4 in the afternoon and I'm bumming around with my computer and my camera. I would like to believe that it's the middle of July because the rain is mercilessly ruining the spirit of the holidays.

And I couldn't be any duller than this because I have cough and colds - not in any mood to party.

[EDIT] 12:04 a.m.

Just yet. Blame it on Krispy Kreme.

Right after the clan get-together on Christmas day, my relatives and I decided to hit Serendra and spend some quality family time. And so we did. Of course we ate tons of food in my Lola's house so there was no point in staying there unless we bought sports apparel or like have coffee or donuts - which we did. I hate Krispy Kreme for the sugar content and the calories! Gaaaah! But then again who could resist such a scrumptious treat? :(

Darn that Krispy Kreme.

On a less depressing note, I watched the Philippine Debate Championships this afternoon in the recap of Square Off. Hands down to Shars and Charms who won the all-expense paid trip to the World Championships. I hope ADS sweeps the tournament and brings home the crown. Once again. I mean, they're no longer a novice at that really. Hmmm. It actually made me think about my plans for next year.

My standing as of now is like struggling to be DL. As in I swear, at all odds and ends, I am so going to be in the Dean's List this time. Even if it means being a full-time nerd. On the one hand, I am applying for JTA (applications for which start this January) and I really need to nurse my ailing qpi for that. *I know I wasn't really vocal on my plans for JTA. But what the heck, it's worth a try. It's not like I'm a sure in because of course, those who can afford more and who have higher grades than I have are of priority.* On the other hand, I just really need to redeem myself after that stupid Accounting incident. Of course, it would really feel great once I prove that I am working so hard.

Although I should ensure that I won't be a harassed sophomore student by the end of this school year due to some advanced summer vacation plans. - BORA! I am so gonna go suicidal if this does not happen. But as how I see it, my girls and I are making arrangements bit by bit so no need to worry. I just need to tell my tita to reserve a flight to Iloilo and then put my gameface on.

Oh, and I need to lose weight big time. I even have to buy a new Hip Hop Abs CD because the old stinking one got sat on or something. Gaaaah.

And I need to clean my room asap.

And about that plan. I kinda feel like I'm heading towards: ADS after Sanggu mode. Like this year, since I was able to take a break from debate, I had the chance to serve the Student Council once again. So next year, if I won't be able to run for a higher position in the School Board, then maybe it's time to train for debate once more. This time there's no turning back. No more swooning over that stupid Freshie know-it-all. I swear if I see you in ADS I am so going to crush you. Gaaaah. It's payback time. Hahaha.;p

I am kinda happy with how I have worked this past school year. *Erase accounting. Erase erase* I'm proud of what I have done in Sanggu. I have learned to love it as an institution and I've made a lot of friends from those I have worked with. All smiles.:D Even though some people can't seem to let it fly off the hook (like this Gadfly Society who hates it to bits) and a lot don't care about it (like my friends), nothing beats what's happening with the organization itself and the acknowledgment of people it has actually served.

Anyway, I have to start removing gift wraps in my room to start with the clean up at the very least. Hahaha.;p All I have is holiday and year end clutter.:D

Sunday, December 23, 2007

Hello again, it's me.

Missed me? Well I am so back. After the last week of class jitters, I am ready to spread the love again. Hihi.:D And yes everyone, it is so Christmas! Merry Christmas! Well, not until one more day. Hahaha.:D I am just so happy.

As you can see, I have once again revamped my layout in lieu of the coming brand new year. I just love this time of the year. Don't you? Aside from reasons to shop for gifts for other people (yeah, stop buying for yourself because you can do that the whole year round), parties, food, get-togethers and pictures, we are all given the chance to reconcile, feel the love and start anew. And what better way to start the year than with a new a blog layout and...

Tada! A new planner!:D Presenting, ladies and gentlemen, the Belle de Jour Power planner 2008: (Now out in different partner retailers. I got mine in Powerbooks, GB)

Thanks to me amigas Ria and Maann for partly giving this to me as their Christmas gift.:D

And what can I say? I just love it. It gives me the right amount of kick to be motivated in pursuing the things I need to do. Woohooo. This, I have to say, is so much funkier than the Starbucks planner that I really wanted to get earlier. I actually thought it was a better catch than last year's so I kinda raved about how I really really wanted it. Now, my bf is keeping it to himself since he almost finished collecting the stickers for me. Aww.:( I'm so sorry. But in my defense, the BDJ planner is so much better because: 1.) it's cheaper, 2.) it best fits my personality and most of all, 3.) it has 36 privilege coupons in different fab stores like Bayo, VNC, Chocolate, Maybelline and other delish food outlets (even spas, plus I got a free Brazilian wax perfect for my Bora getaway. Yiheeee). Briefly stated, I am so in love with it. Can't wait to put my doodles and mark my important appointments in my planner.:D

Okay, so enough of that. I am just so ecstatic with the way things have been going right now. It's been such a helluvah week and the series of events that have just transpired was enough to keep me floating on cloud 9. I am filled with so much love and happiness and I am only a tad bit close to knowing why.

Because this year, it was a little less me and more of other people I guess. And that no matter what happened, I was sure to share a piece of myself with my loved ones. Whatever shortcomings I had, I was able to make up for them (hopefully). And most especially at this time of the year, it's not about the presents and the gifts - literally none of the material things. I have witnessed such an overwhelming milestone with most of my friends and I growing up and becoming emancipated from the early stages of youthfulness. It's about time to face the world and give the best we have. This year, it wasn't the boo-boos and the oohh-ahhs nor the grades and the things I bought. It was the places I went to, the things I discovered and the moments I spent together with the people I love.

That's why. :D

I gotta admit. I didn't rigidly follow the things I planned for the holidays but I'm keeping most nonetheless. Just a quick check:

1.) Simbang gabi - oops. F for failure to attend more than once.
2.) Christmas party with the Core
3.) Bonding with my d4 barkada (Ria's post birthday celebration) - shopping and Temple bar
4.) Gift-hunting
5.) Room revamp again

Oh well. More to come.:D I still need to research on recipes because I shall be cooking our Noche Buena food for tomorrow night. Merry Christmas everyone. :D

Sometimes crazy's alright.

There's something about tonight that's really urging me to release the welling emotions that I've had probably inside me for the longest time. It's like an upsurge. An outburst. A sudden spark of inspiration. Haha.:D Whatever. I've been stuck in this make-believe world for such a long time.

I'm not here to make a recount of my latest shopping spree, or the latest item I bought (though I might get in trouble for it, for having splurged on a dress I don't really need) or even the last party I attended (although SOM Sanggu party was rather fun), or the last event that I hosted or the most recent adventure that I had with my friends. No. Haha. This is some sort of retrospect, about what kind of person I have actually been for the past year. And I do think that it's only fitting to assess myself at this time because the year is almost coming to an end.

For the most part, I can say that I have come out stronger and better than what I expected. Honestly, my streak of bad luck towards the tail end of the previous year was not so much of a grand finale. In fact, I was so confounded with the series of events that nearly prevented me to appreciate all the good things in my life, that I was almost unable to fend off the dark side of the force. *cough*ex*cough. You know what I mean.:)

But, thank God I am surrounded with such great people - and yes, they are the ones to thank for the great turnout. Although, I also have to give due credit to myself since that was helluvah hard to do.

Props up to us for the coming year.

And yes, happy holidays to you too.:D

Disclosure.

If there are two random thoughts that are streaming in my mind right now, they definitely have to be:
1. I hate posers and inconsiderate people. They are two distinctively different personalities but I strongly feel for both.
2. I think that everyone is entitled to his own feelings but has limitations to them, nonetheless. I mean, really now. You can't be THAT insensitive of others' feelings.

It's Christmas. It's the time of the year when you're supposed to welcome the season of love and selfless giving. If you get lucky, you might even undergo an epiphany - and hopefully bid adieu your habit of being a pain in the ass. But that's only when you pause for a while and think about what kind of person you've really been. And honestly, being egocentric doesn't qualify as the first step.

I hate it when people pretend that everything is fine and dandy. I guess it has been a defense mechanism for most since it's safer than admitting that something is for seriously going insanely wrong. I don't have a problem with the art of flaunting material things and whatnot. Hey, if it gives you a sense of security then good for you.

I hate how people think they're the center of this ego-saturated world. Not all things should actually be bannered. You don't really need to prove how much less worthy of a person you actually are.

Gaaah.

I just want to skip this and move on to Christmas. Falalala.

*I have to stall because I seriously don't have any idea on what to write on my Theo paper. As in blank. Literally. ________*

These past two weeks have been nothing but hostile. Nothing like a good tormenting seg way before the feel-good holidays. Nonetheless, these are precisely the times when splurging is given perfect excuse - think a dress, a book and pretzels all in one sweep. Christmas is all about spreading the love, baby.:)

Speaking of spreading the love, I would just want to share what happened to the hectic weekend last week, especially the part where I got dragged into a sudden TV appearance (as an extra. ugh) because of Senate Inquiries. I wasn't able to do extra stuff mainly because of the overflowing and overly demanding schedule that I have for the remainder of month (acads and extras - crazy crazy). So now, I have to simultaneously attend to activities everywhere while juggling tests and papers. Weeee.;p

Okay. Back to Senate Inquiries - it wasn't a total flop but it could have been so much better. It was manageable and a two thumbs up but it wasn't a complete hands down. There was too much stress involved, not to mention a huge chunk of which compensating for the lack of audience. The bad vibes seemed to have replaced the supposed audience in HLIT. But oh well, at least I got to meet Senators Chiz Escudero and Kiko Pangilinan. In fact, I had the chance to hold Sen. Escudero's arm. *woooh* I was so starstruck last Friday. Gaaaaah. It was a once in a life time opportunity to meet those senators.:D

Wahooo.

And so the Inquiries went on - Winnie Monsod was great as always and there were people from the press covering the event. Plus mtv and rushtv of course. I was even made the host last minute omg. I was too busy attending to the shoot for the campus crashers segment but was tapped to be the host anyway. The evening concluded with a bang - a globe portion shoot for mtv and I will be there as an extra. Faith and Marian as the leading ladies.;p

Watch out for my debut on tv. Hahahaha.;p

Gotta go now. I have spent useless time again in front of my laptop doing nothing relevant to academic excellence.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.:)

Long weekend shmuck. Everything was planned yet nothing took place as it should. It was even better.:D

Whoooo. I don't feel like having a long weekend, really, since I was at school yesterday feasting on a 6-hour accounting spree. But that was quite okay.:) Friday was uber fun too because I got dragged to a last-minute gimmick with my friends to Mall of Asia because they wanted to check out Global Fun Carnival. Too bad I couldn't stay because it was my lola's birthday dinner.:D We ate at this place near Manila and went to Greenhills after - like we always do every year. What's super fun about it is that we started making our holiday plans already, even extending it to summer because my dad's been telling me to talk to my tita to book me a flight for summer. I am so going to Bora baby!;p And what's cool about it is I'm with my friends pa! I want to go with my family too but I dunno with my dad. He said I should go na lang with sila Kara. Oh well. :D

It's so pleasant to move around because after the successive storms, the winds became chilly already. It's soooo Christmas-y.:D My mom's been putting decorations nonstop, to think that we've started as early as my sem break.;p

I just love this time of the year.:D

I now suck at the one sport that I truly love.

Freshman year wearing my volleyball uniform.

It's been a long time since I actually had time to spare and do things for myself. Today seemed like a pretty good opportunity to grab it so I did. But now there's this part of me wishing I hadn't.

Every sport needs training and practice to maintain the skills. Volleyball is no different. I've been playing it since I was nine years old yet my enthusiasm for the sport can't even get me to qualify for a college level varsity team. I never had consistent trainings anyway. I just play during the summer, and a bit within a school year. So I fare on the more than a beginner yet less than a pro level. Quite good but not good enough.

And so today, since I wasn't really doing anything - wow that's something new - I decided to bring my athletic outfit, hit the covered courts and burn some calories. I was so giddy and jumpy because I haven't played for quite some time now. But I was so flabbergasted that the entire afternoon turned out to be a complete disaster, all because I figured that I didn't know how to play anymore. And had I anymore shame, I wouldn't have come to practice. :( Yes, it was that bad.

Aside from not knowing almost half the people in the club, I never really got to enjoy the game like I used to. I-hate-it. Where is the friggin' ball when I need it??? >.< Oh well. Maybe I should star practicing more often if I don't want to feel this low.:(

If there's any way that I could get rid of this feeling.

It was my mom's birthday last Friday. Ever since I found out that she already turned 50 and actually forgot what year it was, I've lost track of how old she is 'coz of course, she's not the type to tell how old she is. One of my d4 best friends celebrated her debut last night at G-hotel, Waterfront and the party was a huge success. I went for a mini-shopping spree yesterday with my parents, not to mention pigged out with most of the people who I love in an eat-all-you-can restaurant and a sit down dinner in the debut. I slept so much this afternoon, worked a little and was surprisingly productive and ate Go Nuts Donuts and Coffee Crumble Ice Cream. Yet I am so unhappy.

I was painting my nails (you guessed it, pink) a while ago. I turned on my computer, ceremoniously opened my iTunes and created a 'chilling ambiance' play list. It's made of pretty much the songs from a Sunday slowdown evening - slow, sentimental, rhythm and blues, soul and also agonistic serenades of bitterness, pain and love. Uuggggh. I really eternally am disgusted of this feeling.

Wala yun lang. I don't have choice but to end this. I need to work pa.

Feeling something stupid like..

I did one of the worst stunts that I could pull off ever. And of all the days I could have done it, it just had to be today.:(

I left my phone at home. I know, stupid right? For a whole day in school, I bore the pain of having to walk around without the company of my cellphone. Who the hell forgets her phone at home? (I mean, aside from my friend Bea who has this habit of leaving hers along with her ID) I know I didn't do it intentionally but still, it was another certified bobo move. :(

All through out the day, I was really happy because of certain highlights. Like our surprise thing for Jem's birthday in Mcdo. It was sweet, short and simple but at least we made him super happy today. It was just Mcdo, donuts and almost the whole block - a simple treat for our dear friend.:)

Happy birthday Jeremy!:)

At the back of my mind, I was hoping that no one would have to need me for meetings like any person in Sanggu or whatnot. I knew that if that'd happened, I'd be heading towards doom. So I tried to enjoy the rest of the afternoon with Mark and the birthday boy. When I got home, so much to my horror, my anxieties were confirmed. Turns out Biancs was grilled by Dean Ang (which was weird because he was so nice to Tin and I during the presentation the other day) and everything in the Sportsfest started going wrong. So panic heightened the tension and provoked Biancs to call for an emergency meeting (take note, all caps message) at 8 pm tonight in Starbucks. Goodness gracious.:( Sam was so nice to even offer to cover up for me had I replied to her message but no. It was already too late when I found out about it.

Uugh. So anyway. I'm purely disgusted with myself. Things haven't been going well lately. Maybe it's the stress. It's only the second week and I've had so much work already - both academic and extra-curricular. I haven't even talked to my boyfriend in 3 days! I'm talking serious heaps of work here fellas! But to great things ahead, it's mommy's birthday tomorrow. And Kara's debut on Saturday. I am in dire need of relaxation now. Even for a while lang. Then I can seriously manage everything else.

What it is to be humble.

I just had a face to face encounter with a being bearing a battered sense of humility. That no matter what it takes for that person to get what he or she wants, even if it means squashing other people's feet, he or she simply doesn't care about the consequences at stake. I have to say I have never seen anything like it.

But oh well. We are aspiring for the same things here. It's not the so-called prestige that you force upon yourself when you finally achieve something. Isn't it so much better to savor victory knowing that you've made friends instead of enemies along the way? The ones who will eventually support your success and actually convince you that you are indeed worthy of your achievements?

Egocentric people rarely find contentment in their own ventures. But that's just because they're too busy caring about themselves in the whole process. And the limit is drawn there - it extinguishes all means of providing satisfaction hence, the stepping on other people.

Anyway. I'm so swamped right now I don't know where to begin.=s

The end of a remarkable break.

Guys, it ends tonight in about less than an hour. Tomorrow is another day when I will be traipsing the hallowed grounds of Ateneo - carrying tons of books and school supplies, dishing out intellectual conversations, digging my way out of onerous school work and eating my stressed system away.

I've had such a good time that it is indeed painful for me to say goodbye. But oh well. :(

HEADLINES.

This last week of my break has been nothing but awesome. Well, maybe a bit on the downside since I finally had the chance to wallow on my Accounting failure misery. But I guess that's okay due to the high turn out of my grades. A little more push and even a C in Accounting would have earned me a spot in the Dean's List. Think: B+'s and B's and C+'s for grades. *Sigh* But I guess I just have to make it bawi this next sem. Okay?:)

So for the most part, I have had the chance to fix my sleeping patterns because of the early commitments that I had this past week. I had to go to school for my reg, attend Sanggu meetings, go with Io to UP and then finally, the big conclusion of a quick shopping spree with my darling Kara in Makati.:) It was uber fun. Mostly because we went bargain hunting for cheap thrills. Hahaha. And since there's no school yet, we had nothing to squeeze out of wallets due to the absence of sufficient income. And I was super glad we did it because it will be quite a long time before we get the chance to spend time like that again. Ooops. Maybe in a mall, But I sure am going to her Fiamma event next week and again to her party preps for her debut so, I guess I'd be seeing more of her pala. My bad.;p

Hmm. I'm so glad with how everything is working out. I have never been this excited to start school again. (Omg, is this me?;p) Plus, I get to do everything that I want this weekend: party, work and shop. Hahaha.;p Weird girl. But oh well. So much for having a blast. Although I am super sad that I didn't really make an effort to get my student license (again. been talking about that since last year) I guess I have to wait until next break or until I have the time to do so.

Can I just say that I am soooooo addicted to the comeback song of Spice Girls? xp

Very Happy Halloween with my HS darlings.:)

Unlike the previous years, the 31st didn't really have a significant impact on me unless you count the fact of not having school and seeing how happy the kids are in our village as they run around screaming for candies, going door to door in their trick or treat costumes. The getaway closest to one of my sem break highlights started when I was a HS Senior because my best buds and I agreed to have these sleepovers every year at this time since this was the only common break in line with our schedules. And I must say that I really love this time of the year.

I'm loving it more because not only do I get to spend time with my friends who I barely see, but I'm also given the chance to relax and have fun with just those guys around. And oh, it's also one of my closest friends' birthday. Happy birthday Lainey!;p

The day started with Io and I meeting up in Shang. It has been forever since we last saw each other. Omg. I really missed him. It's also a good thing that we're okay now because things were really messed up in the early part of the break. The afternoon was a pure adventure because of him. After our lunch, we headed to Glorietta to meet my girlies. We even had an unfortunate MMDA incident while driving along Makati going to Ayala because the stupid traffic enforcers were scavenging for innocent victims whom they can get money from. But I told Io not to stress about it (while I was sitting pretty on the passenger's seat watching it all happen) because he didn't do anything wrong in the first place and that it was all part of the driving package. And with the way traffic enforcers act these days, incidents like this are highly probable.

We hung out at Glorietta as we waited for Kara and Ria. Omg. I also missed those two. I knew I was in for a super fun time as the evening drew closer. After buying our share of alcohol (and chips care of me), we then went to our final destination: Rox's house. And then, it all happened there.

To Halloween and sem break!;p

Dynamic foursome forever.:p

The night's (until the wee hours of the morning's) events included: swimming, drinking, chit-chats, tons of picture taking, laughing and catching up. These were highlighted by the tequila body shots and Cleo's stunt act as she showcased the contents of our dinner that evening. Hahaha.;p

Next morning, our breakfast constituted our ever-favorite Mcdo due to the absence of maids in Rox's household. After the last goodbyes and settling everything else, my girls and I crashed in my place where we continued our kwentuhan session. The night's festivities were concluded when we went to ATC to drop everyone off, shop and have dinner. :)

And what can I say? I really really really eternally had fun.;p

To Rox and everyone, I love this sleepover/party. To more of these to come!!!;p

Ria, we're going to miss you. Have a safe trip and keep in touch. We'll see you soon - Bora this summer okay?;p

Sis and Nie - see you after two weeks. Fiamma na 'to!;p

Hun, thank you for just being you and for staying with me.
